How to Add a Background Color to a Picture With Photoshop

Using Photoshop to change or edit the background in an image, you can alter reality to suit your whims. Change the sky from blue to red. Change your kitchen wallpaper from flowers to plaid. Your imagination is the only limit.

  1. Start Photoshop. Open the picture you want to change.
  2. Use one of the selection tools ' Freehand or Selection ' to outline the area to be colored.
  3. Locate the color palette at the bottom of the toolbar.
  4. Click on the top square and select a new color from the palette. Click OK.
  5. Click the Paint Bucket icon.
  6. Choose a fill pattern from the Paint Bucket Options menu.
  7. Place the cursor over the selected area and click once to fill the selection with the color and pattern you chose.
  8. If the results aren't what you wanted, select undo from the Edit menu to undo the last change, then try again.
  9. Choose Save As from the File menu to save your changes.
